Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 is well underway, and as is the case with most Call of Duty content seasons, the Reloaded content drop brings even more goodies to your favourite multiplayer shooter. Whether you like taking on the Special Ops mode, heading into Warzone 2.0 for more battle royale shenanigans, or just enjoying some of the more exotic Call of Duty weapons, Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded has plenty to offer the connoisseur. Here’s everything that’s new as part of Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded!
Special Ops Raid Episode 02
The second Raid Episode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Special Ops mode is here. If you haven’t played the first episode, you should definitely do that first to get up to speed before playing this one, as we’ll be spoiling it a little here. After the first episode’s conclusion, Captain Price and his colleagues must identify a missile’s payload, battling enemies throughout a missile silo as they do so.
Completing this Episode will net you a new Operator Skin for Captain Price, and you can use that in both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. Anyone can access this new mission, too, regardless of Raid Assignment.
New multiplayer map: Himmelmatt Expo
Joining the Modern Warfare 2 map lineup is the new Himmelmatt Expo map, which takes you to a picturesque European mountain. This large facility has plenty of streets to explore, as well as luxurious facilities like saunas and bars. Of course, you won’t have time to stop for a drink; instead, you can use these facilities to set up sniper nests or ambushes.
Himmelmatt Expo will be available in featured Playlists, and you’ll also find it in the Quick Play pool. You can take a look at Modern Warfare 2’s full rundown of the Himmelmatt Expo map if you want to learn more about it.
Three multiplayer Party Modes
Three more multiplayer modes are on their way to Modern Warfare 2 as part of this content drop, and here they are.
Drop Zone
This team mode has players competing against one another to hold Drop Zones, acquiring Killstreaks as they do so. Holding each Drop Zone and rotating through them is a must if you want to succeed.
All or Nothing
Every Operator in the All or Nothing mode is equipped with Throwing Knives and a pistol, but the catch is that your pistol starts with no ammo. You must earn eliminations to get yourself ammo and further perks.
One in the Chamber
As you’ve probably guessed from the name, One in the Chamber has players spawn with a single gun and a single bullet. Operators die in one hit, though, and if you score a kill, you’ll get another bullet. It’s all about accuracy in this mode.
Warzone’s third anniversary
It’s been three years since Call of Duty: Warzone originally launched, and to celebrate that launch, Activision is giving away free rewards, including a blueprint, Calling Cards, and several more. Check out your in-game Store each day to claim those rewards, and make sure not to miss a day!
New Path of the Ronin challenges
Modern Warfare Season 2’s Path of the Ronin challenges are all about embodying the values of Japanese ronin, which is to say deadly accuracy, combat skill, and being beholden to no master. As such, there are new Camo Challenges to take on as part of this season’s Reloaded drop.
Finishing these challenges nets you a new Camo for each of the weapons, and finishing all ten will get you special Camos for all of the weapons, as well as a Charm to show your dedication. Here are the challenges in full.
- Assault rifles: Get 125 headshot eliminations
- Battle rifles: Get 75 headshots
- SMGs: Get 100 headshots
- LMGs: Get 75 headshots
- Shotguns: Get 50 headshots
- Marksman rifles: Get 50 headshots
- Sniper rifles: Get 50 headshots
- Handguns: Get 30 headshots
- Melee: Get 30 kills from behind
- Launcher: Get 40 kills
New Marksman Rifle: Tempus Torrent
It wouldn’t be a Call of Duty content drop without a new weapon, and indeed, the Tempus Torrent is making its way into the game. This rifle has a speedy fire rate and a 20-round capacity, so you can afford to miss a few shots, making it ideal for frenzied or fast-paced engagements.
The rifle does, however, have a pretty significant amount of recoil, so you’re going to need to factor that in if you want to make sure that you’re maximising the gun’s impact. You can unlock this one in a Store Bundle or by getting 25 Double Kills with Marksman Rifles.
New Operator: Shredder
Yes, you read that right. Shredder, the Ninja Turtles’ most hated enemy, is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He comes with three new Blueprints: the Oroku Shotgun, the Saki Assault Rifle, and, of course, Shredder’s iconic Steel Claws, which are a variant on the Dual Kodachi swords in Modern Warfare 2.
These are the major features and pieces of content coming to Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded, but there’s a lot more to discover as part of this mid-season update, including new Bundles, a new Party Queueing social feature, and much more. Make sure you give the Activision Modern Warfare 2 blog a read, because it contains many more details on all the things you can pick up as part of this exciting new content drop!
