It is kind of shocking how many Jurassic Park and Jurassic World games there are, so many that we were able to come up with a top 10 Jurassic Park games list and have all 10 games actually be good. Well, some at the bottom of the list may be on the verge of being decent, but they are still playable.
This is our pick for the best Jurassic Park games, but we would love to read what your favorite Jurassic Park games are in the comments section.
10: Jurassic Park (Super Nintendo)
Hmm, to be honest with you, we are only including the Super Nintendo version of Jurassic Park on this list because emulation has made it way more playable. This is a hybrid of a top down action game and a first-person shooter. At the time it was released the first-person sections were mind blowing! The game is fun, but back in 1993, it was nearly unbeatable due to you not being able to save your game! However, thanks to emulation allowing you to save your game, Jurassic Park on the SNES is a fun adventure game that is well worth playing.
9: Jurassic Park (Sega Genesis/Mega Drive)
Released at the same time as the SNES version, the 16-bit version of Jurassic Park that Sega had to offer was an epic 2D action game. This has amazing visuals and a ton of style to the presentation with an awesome intro. What makes Jurassic Park for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive so unique is the fact you can play this as Dr. Grant and also as a velociraptor! It may not be perfect, but this is a game many people have a ton of nostalgia for.
8: The Lost World Jurassic Park (Arcade)
While many people have fond memories of the on rails Jurassic Park arcade game from Sega, The Lost World is a far superior game. It is blockbuster arcade action that has very impressive 3D visuals for the time and it is just pure balls to the wall action. While it was a real coin muncher back in the arcade days. The Lost World Jurassic Park Arcade is even more fun via emulation as you can have unlimited credits!
7: Jurassic World Evolution 2
Next up we have a game that had to be on our top 10 Jurassic Park games list, but it is certainly a game that people either love or hate! The idea of running your own Jurassic World is awesome and that is what Jurassic World Evolution 2 offers. It is a very complex and deep game that demands a great deal from the player. However, for those who are willing to be patient and put the time into getting the best out of this, they will find it to be a thrilling and addictive time.
6. Jurassic World Aftermath
Here we have a bit of a hidden gem, Jurassic World Aftermath is a VR game where we play as someone who has been sent to the island after the events of Jurassic World to try and gather important information. The problem is, that you are being stalked by raptors and you need to use your wits and be brave as you sneak around and run for your life. This is epic stuff that has a cool almost cell shaded style to it. It is thrilling and even has a few jump scares in there too!
5: Jurassic Park The Game
Telltale Games were known for their epic storytelling in games and while most people will think of games like The Walking Dead when it comes to this studio. They also gave their creative talents to the Jurassic Park series. You still get to make some important and sometimes difficult choices throughout the narrative. Yet, Jurassic Park The Game is also one of the more action packed games that Telltale Games made.
4: Jurassic Park III: Park Builder
While it may not be seen as the best movie in the series, Jurassic Park III got a whole bunch of games from Konami, including an arcade game and three games on the Gameboy Advance, all of which are fun in their own right. We decided to go for Jurassic Park III: Park Builder. This is a fun and scaled back park building game where you need to build your own Jurassic Park. Think of the classic sim game, Theme Park, but with dinosaurs and you will know what to expect here. This is a real hidden gem on the GBA and well worth a spot on our top 10 Jurassic Park games list.
3: Jurassic Park Operation Genesis
While Jurassic World Evolution 2 may have been too complicated for some people and you could argue that the aforementioned Jurassic Park III: Park Builder was too simple, Jurassic Park Operation Genesis hits that sweet spot perfectly. This is another park building game, but this one is way more action packed than most simulation style games tend to be. It features a bunch of exciting missions for you to go on and for many years this was seen by many people to be the best Jurassic Park game. It was also something of a pricier game on the PlayStation 2 and original Xbox too!
2: Lego Jurassic World
Ahh, the Lego game formula may have been done to death, but Lego Jurassic World has that Lego games charm by the bucket load! While this is called Lego Jurassic World, you play through the events of the first three movies as well. Seeing the classic and iconic events from the movie in Lego form is hilarious and very charming. The game has a ton of characters, but as well as the humans, you can also play as dinosaurs too. The dinosaurs are what actually set this apart from the million other Lego games that are on the market!
1: Jurassic Park Sega Master System/Game Gear
No doubt there are some shocked faces reading that we have Jurassic Park for the Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear at the top of this list, but trust us when we tell you, this game is amazing! You can pick any level that you want to do and each one has a different dinosaur as the boss. Each stage starts with you in the car trying to protect it from dinosaurs before moving onto a fun, but challenging side scrolling action game. This is just a whole lot of fun to play and it has some incredible visuals and a rocking soundtrack too! This was pretty much ignored when it was released as most people had moved onto the 16-bit consoles.
